CLERMONT, FL ( Feb 7-14, 2012)—Alicia Weber broke 2 men’s world records and “pushed” to new levels in extreme strength and balance world record challenges as her week of record breaking got tougher each day.  All the following world records are published with Record Setter World Record Book – the world’s fastest growing world record book!  All her records this week involved pushups and balance and a few other additives as you will SEE!

On Feb 7, 2012, Alicia broke for the 4th time her 3 medicine ball pushup world record!  In 2010 she first set the world record with 35 reps in 1 minute, but now she has set the new world record with 52 reps in one minute!

On Feb 9, 2012, Alicia broke the men’s world record by 5 reps to set new world record in Most One-armed Hindu Pushups on a Basketball.  Here she sets the record with 13 consecutive reps (although not required by the rules, Alicia holds her rest arm behind her back to hold the strictest standards to make exercise most difficult when performing the exercise).

World Record # 2 for Alicia in Strength Balance World Record Challenge Week

On Feb 10, 2012, Alicia created a new type of balance record, while holding an egg on a spoon in the mouth for the ENTIRE record.  Alicia began with 11 consecutive strict pullups, then with a maximum of 1 min rest allowed (Alicia only rested 38 seconds), she then completed 15 consecutive strict decline one arm pushups with legs only 2 feet apart or less resting on a surface of 18.5 inches high. This record and the ones that follow are inspired by Darryl Learrie – the record holder that made the raw egg famous with his one armed pushups on the raw egg!  This particular record has a tribute to Darryl Learrie in the beginning.

On Feb 11, 2012, Alicia did a double record endeavor!  In AM she re-set her Most Consecutive 2 Medicine Ball Tricep Pushup with an Elevated Leg record..completing 25 consecutive reps in 1 minute.  Then, in the PM Alicia broke the men’s world record by going 28 reps over the record for the Most One-armed Pushups, while balancing an Egg on Spoon in Mouth

World Record # 4 for Alicia in Strength Balance Challenge Week

For this record, lower chest (below breast) must touch ball and then end with arms in full extension for a rep to count.  Alicia does 25 consecutive in 1 minute.  Her previous record was 10.

World Record # 5 for Alicia in Strength Balance Challenge Week

Alicia breaks men’s world record and does 50 reps.  The previous record was 22 reps.  Then, the same day Alicia broke the men’s record, a man was in fury to get this record back and did 51 reps to re-claim record.

On Feb 14, 2012, on Valentine’s Day, Alicia showed “she had a lot of heart!”  Alicia “pushed” to a new level and completed her most demanding strength balance challenge of the week!  Alicia invents new record – a spin off from the one she just set, but this time she requires the strictest form and makes it even tougher! Alicia completes the Most Consecutive One-armed Pushups Holding a 10lbs Medicine Ball on Back While Balancing Egg on Spoon in Mouth.  In this record, a rope is also tied around her legs to keep them only 2 feet apart or less.  And guess what she makes it tougher, but SHE DOES EVEN BETTER! She does 59 reps NOW!

World Record # 6 for Alicia in Strength Balance Challenge Week

Alicia enters uncharted territory and completes 59 consecutive one arm pushups in very rare and tough form for world record!

Alicia Weber was inducted in the Official Pushup Hall of Fame in 2012 and here’s what she says on her record week, “Our goal in the Pushup Hall of Fame is to “push” ourselves and others to new levels and get out of our comfort zones.  I did that this week, especially with the egg on spoon in mouth records.  I don’t practice balancing an egg on a spoon in my mouth, I just gave it a go for the first time this week.  The same is true for the hindu pushups.  My conditioning from other pushup/balance training carried over for these particular events.”

CLERMONT, Florida—On the 8th day of the new year 2011, we ask fitness expert, Alicia Weber, how she feels as she looks back at her record 24 world records in strength, speed, & endurance she set in 2010.

Alicia replies, “I feel that I accomplished my goals for that year.  My adrenaline pumps and I prepare the best I can and I exceeded every goal.  I am a possibility thinker with an insatiable desire to strive for difficult tasks.  They were all very challenging and required a great amount of possibility thinking and focus in addition to physical fitness.”

What do you look forward to in 2011?  Alicia says, “I never totally know what to expect and goals change, but I always think BIG enough for God to fit into all my goals!  This will be a year that my success has significance for those in Lake County, Fl – I have some very exciting “fitness makeovers” and “fun fitness challenges” I will be hosting with awesome prizes.

Here is a Review of Alicia’s 24 World Records set in 2010.
(Scroll to bottom for her 10 Sports  Video where you can watch her set a World Record!! )

Feb 6-March 9, 2010-Alicia Weber started her 33 day “5 Areas of Physical Fitness Challenge” with a 30 minute pull up world record enroute to a new mind-blowing 1 hour pull up record where she blew away her old record by 161 reps for 721 reps.  The one hour event is very grueling because you need to find a pace and keep it the whole hour.  She kept a pace of 12 reps a minute.  Then, 21 days later she did another mind blowing endurance feat with 680 chin ups in an hour (145 reps over her former record)!  These 1 hour events are taxing on the muscles, but she is so well trained that in between these two endurance feats, she wasn’t recovering, but setting more records (one every 2 and ½ days)!  In between these feats, she set 6 world records ( 2 shorter duration chin up WRs, 2 single-leg speed jump rope WRs, a jump rope running WR, and a Ring Dip (L-feat) 1 minute WR)!!  Then, March 1-9, Alicia set 4 more world records in pushups as she increased the level of difficulty by adding medicine balls to pushups.

Alicia states, “This was the most grueling of my 2010 records because of the focus required for these records for the 33 day duration.  Near the end, I made the challenge harder when I started getting mentally fatigued by pushing myself in 3 types of medicine ball pushup world records, which is equally a mental challenge as it is a physical challenge.  It was a thrill of victory when I captured 11 world records and 2 rare strength feats in 33 days and set world records in all 5 areas of physical fitness!”

May 27, 2010-Alicia Weber focused solely on maximum strength world records within a 45-minute time frame and took the challenge of setting 6 world records in 45-minutes to try & tie the # Legendary Jesse Owens did in Track and Field with Maximum Speed and Long Jump World Records set May 25, 1935.  However, Alicia missed on one, which she later captured during “Weber World Record Week.”  All in All, Alicia set an incredible 5 world records within 45 minutes in 5 strength events on May 27, 2010 in this order (1.  37 pull ups in 1 minute, 2.  35 pull ups in a row, 3.  30 chin ups in a row, 4.  11 handstand pushups in 1 minute, & 5.  18 ring dips in 1 minute).  Click here to purchase this 45 Minute World Record on digital download.

June 11, 2010-Alicia Weber was feeling ABSolutely FABulous and felt it was time to blow away her current 30-minute sit-up world record.  She did just that in flying colors as she blew away her previous mark by nearly 200 reps!!  Her current world record is now 795 reps in 30-minutes (a sit-up every 2.26 seconds)!  Click here to learn correct sit-up form.

Sept 11-17, 2010-Alicia Weber set 5 world records during “Weber World Record Week”.  First, she combined running, coordination, and strength together as she went jump rope running around the track using a 1.5 lbs jump rope.  Alicia, a former National Champ Track runner states, “Jump Rope running is night and day to regular running.  It is WAY more difficult and strenuous and if there is any wind – forget it!  I picked to set these jump rope running records in September, since there is little to no wind.”  Next she finally captured the world record for the world’s most difficult type of dip – Ring L position dips.  Finally, she tested herself in endurance and captured the 3-minute Deep Squat World Record following then with re-setting her 10-minute one arm pushup world record.

Alicia Weber is featured on the World Record Holder’s Registry.  Alicia Weber is also in the world record book, “Believe the Unbelievable.”  Quite contrary to 2009, Alicia spent all 2010 setting world records and only competed in 1 sport.  In 2009, Alicia set only 8 world records, but she competed in 10 sports!

FABULOUS!  Since I am prone to back aches, I learned which exercises I should do.” – Claudia, Senior Citizen trying to stay fit!

“While many forms of exercise are all good (biking, hiking, swimming, running) they are based on repetitive movement. Numerous muscles are used very little or not at all.  Alicia’s book has a program that will indentify under-used muscles and muscle tightness (decreased flexibility).  This program increases flexibility and muscle balance, which is a well-known injury preventer.”
– James, long distance hiker (had partial tear in quadricep, now healed)

“With Your Winning Way to Physical Fitness, Alicia instills the power of commitment when you make a pledge for a ‘new you’ .  Having this book by my side, I know what stretches to do when I get stiff and how to prevent injuries.  I know my progress as I fill out the 52-week  training log. I learn how much water I should be drinking during exercise and throughout the day.  I learn key healing foods and most of all, I learned things I never knew before.  This is a book I keep re-reading and I can certainly say it has helped take me to another new level in athletics!   Your Winning Way to Physical Fitness is a REAL WINNER!”

Importance of Balance Training

I have been selected as a premiere fitness expert at yourhealthupdates.com The following article has made the most popular article list for that site. Below, I provide the article again with follow-along-video demonstrations. Thank You & Enjoy! ~Alicia Weber

One may ask, what is balance training and what are the benefits?

It can benefit a person in so many ways and it starts with the spinal cord.

The spinal cord is involved with voluntary and involuntary movement where information is carried up and down the spine by bundles of fibers in the central nervous system (CNS) where sensory and motor information signal a movement. The goal would be to build a faster reaction with technical movements. First, try dribbling a basketball and notice how little concentration is invloved. Now, try dribbling a Reaction Ball – WOW, what a difference! Concentration and level of difficulty is 10 fold and one can feel the impulses to react!

Try the Following Reaction Ball Drill

This is just the beginning of the effects of balance training…

Proprioception is the ongoing awareness of body position or joint position and it is regulated by sensory organs (i.e. eyes, ears, and specialized receptors in tendons, joints, and muscles). Proprioception gets challenged in balance training too! The visual sense gives pertinent data about external stimuli and are extremely important in skilled performances. Try a simple “eyes shut” exercise, while standing on one foot to see how your propioception is challenged in balance training. Sometimes you may feel like you want to wave your hands around to maintain equilibrium. This signals coordination involvement in balance.

Try Some Beginner to Intermediate Bodyweight Eyes Shut Drills

Coordination involves an involuntary response that results in specific motor response with that response being dependent on the type and duration of the stimulus received. So in everyday activities coordination is rarely challenged. However, try to balance on 1 foot – turn one arm clockwise, the other arm counter-clockwise, and the other leg clockwise then counter clockwise. Now, we are talking about coordination! The results of working on that exercise over time will be building stronger somatic reflexes (reflexes involving skeletal muscle contraction).

Try Some Multiple Movements in Different Directions to Advance One’s Coordination

Balance training is challenging body equilibrium and teaching nervous and sensory receptor systems to perform highly skilled movement patterns.

How can balance training help the elderly?

As I trained patients with high-level neuromuscular and neurological conditions, the best results came from combining “eyes shut” exercises with coordination exercises all while doing a light aerobic activity. Results and graduation to a new fitness level were achieved in 4-weeks. Aerobic activity alone produced no results and coordination drills with eyes open only produced minor results. So to get the most out of balance try an array of activities such as the examples above.

How can balance help kids and adults?

When in good health, a person wouldn’t even recognize their nervous system and muscles executing a simple movement, but when there is a problem their nerves and muscles can become impaired. People can easily begin reaping rewards from balance training and apply them to sports like tennis and basketball. Balance training also strengthens muscle stabilizers, so if you are apt to get ankle sprains – then regular balance training can fix that problem!

Do you have weak ankles or have trouble balancing on 1 foot? If so, you can work on turning the weakness into a strength with the video below.

Here is an easy 2-minute exercise to strengthen muscle stabilizers in your feet to improve your balance and stability.

Watch my client master a very difficult balance exercise that also works the core and quads!
